Dr Fionnuala Murphy of the University College Dublin delivered a seminar titled 'Is the Bioeconomy inherently sustainable? Using Life Cycle Assessment to find out!'. As partners of the REAMIT project, Dr. Murphy detailed the involvement of REAMIT and the Life Cycle Assessment. REAMIT project partners will be meeting for the 3nd RSC+RAC+WP meeting. The meeting will be hosted by Whysor B.V in the Netherlands. We had original arrangeed for this meeting to take place in The Netherlands but was moved to an online meeting, due to the current pandemic. Professor Yanqing Duan from the University of Bedfordshire, Business School, has been invited to give an online presentation of the REAMIT project at the International Conference on Intelligent Agriculture (ICIA2021), taking place at Tianjin, China on 20-22 May 2021. The focus of Yan’s presentation will be on demonstrating the applications and benefits of using Big Data and IoT sensors for reducing food waste in food supply chains based on REAMIT experience, therefore it will help to prompt the exploration of new applications and wider adoption of emerging digital technologies in food supply chains. Presenting the REAMIT project at this international conference will be an excellent opportunity to reach new stakeholders and attract new research collaborations in China and beyond, who are also involved in reducing food waste.
