Post-doctoral Research Fellow, University College Dublin, Ireland

The REAMIT project (partner at the University College Dublin, Ireland) is recruiting a Post-doctoral Research Fellow, who will focus on developing a real-time life cycle assessment model based on the REAMIT project integrated IoT sensor and big data solutions. This role will focus on developing a real-time life cycle assessment model based on the REAMIT integrated IoT sensor and big data solutions. You will develop a methodology to allow dynamic modelling of the supply chain, population of the life cycle inventory in real-time, and impact assessment of the dynamic scenarios integrating the environmental dimension in the decision support algorithm developed in REAMIT. You will interact with industry partners at all stages of the project to best understand the supply chains and to collect realtime data. Deadline for submitting applications is 28 January 2021.

Post-doctoral Research Fellow, University College Dublin, Ireland

The REAMIT project (partner at the University College Dublin, Ireland) is recruiting a Post-doctoral Research Fellow who is a recent PhD graduate in science or technology.

You will join an international research team in the REAMIT project (funded by INTERREG North West Europe Programme) to advance the application of IoT in food chain traceability, monitoring and control. You will be based in the UCD School of Biosystems & Food Engineering, and you will be responsible for the pilotscale implementation and testing of a novel food traceability system, CyberBar that provides traceability by directly imprinting smartphone-readable QR codes on to chicken fillets (this may also include other food chain traceability systems). You will work closely with industry partners in commissioning and monitoring the performance of the system.

CyberBar is designed to provide full chain traceability and assist in the reduction of food waste, particularly at retail and household stages along the chain.
